Samuel Tenywa is a Ugandan environmental scientist and climate advocate dedicated to fostering positive change. With a Bachelor’s degree from Kyambogo University, he intertwines his scientific expertise with a passion for community engagement and ecological restoration, shaping a remarkable journey of advocacy and leadership.

Early Life and Education

Born in Uganda with an innate curiosity for environmental preservation, Samuel Tenywa’s academic journey led him to Kyambogo University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. It was during this period that his commitment to environmental causes took a profound turn, setting the stage for a transformative career in the field.

Activism

In 2018, Samuel embarked on his environmental journey with the WWF Uganda’s campaign to end plastic pollution, marking the genesis of his hands-on activism.

His active role as the group campaigns mobiliser for Kyambogo University during the Earth Hour in 2019 resulted in their victory in the inter-University innovation challenge, establishing his early leadership in environmental initiatives.

Professional Engagements

Tenywa’s professional engagement expanded when he served as an internship trainee with the New Forest Company. His responsibilities in the department of environment and safety reflected a commitment to protecting both human and wildlife life within the environment.

Leadership

Samuel’s achievements include the establishment of a community forest in 2020, demonstrating his commitment to creating habitats for wildlife. Currently managing climate school and community awareness programs, he utilizes social media and physical classes to educate youth on climate action and sustainable eco-green business practices.

As the Managing Director of Earth Volunteers, Tenywa provides leadership in uniting youths for impactful climate action, exemplifying his role as a dynamic leader in the environmental advocacy landscape.
